Hi Joel!

Thanks for posting the link to the article, it was a fabulous read…

However, I couldn’t help but notice the picture that Maclean’s chose to advertise for their subscription…I’ll pass on the “BONUS GIFT” if that’s okay with them…Danke…

Hey Matt,

That’s actually the cover for next week’s issue (see large version below).  Maybe they were jealous of Newsweek’s “We Are All Socialists Now!” cover published after Obama was elected.

But as soon as I saw that cover I knew I had to read the article to count how many times they mention “right-wing” and “conservatives” and “tea party” in their Hitler/Nazi article, and for some odd reason they only conflate Hitler and Nazis with “right-wing” about three thousands times, even in the same sentence as “socialism”.  image

At one point they get close to closing the gap though, quoting a genius spokesmodel from the Southern Poverty Law Center that “tracks American hate groups”, who says, “I don’t think there’s any doubt at all that the radical right as a whole in the U.S. has been Nazified over the last 30 years.”  And he is then quoted as describing the new mix as consisting of: U.S. right-wing militias, white supremacists, anti-Semites, nativists, and other members of the “radical right” like…. wait for it…. “tax protesters”

That’s right.  All you tea partiers?  Possibly Nazis.

(And whatever you do, Maclean’s, don’t ask for clarification on this!  Just let it sit there!  Yummy propaganda!  —Hey! Who does that remind us of?)

Thanks Matt,
Joel
