CBC: Hamas not called “terrorist” in entire story
In their whole story about the ceasefire announced today in Israel between Hamas, a terrorist organization, and Israel —the state-owned CBC anchor Nancy (“very interesting!!”) Wilson did not refer to Hamas as a terrorist organization even once. Not even a “so-called” terrorist group!
So if all you ever watched was CBC Newsworld, you might not know that Hamas—Israel’s enemy—is a terrorist organization whose main goal is to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. Or at least that’s how her country, the country of “Canada”, sees it. Maybe the CBC isn’t on Canada’s side.
She called Hamas “the radical Islamist group that controls the Gaza strip”. And referred to its “officials”. (I guess Osama bin Laden is an “official” within the al-Qaeda “radical Islamic group” that seeks a similar annihilation of the United States and many western nations.)
Here’s her entire story:
“Hamas, the radical Islamic group that controls the Gaza strip says it’s reached a ceasefire with Israel. It’s supposed to end both rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel, and Israeli military strikes in Gaza. For its part Israel says quote a new reality will take hold, if Palestinian attacks end. A Hamas spokesman announced the deal today. He also said Hamas is ready to defend itself if Israel breaks the deal. The agreement comes after an Israeli air strike on a car in the Gaza Strip that killed six people —militants, according to Israel. Also today, Hamas officials met a delegation from Fatah, the other main party representing Palestinians. Hamas and Fatah have been bitter rivals, and last spring, Hamas took control of Gaza after several days of fighting. Hamas won the Palestinian elections in 2006, but has been shunned by much of the world because it still does not recognize the Jewish state.”
It “has been shunned by much of the world because it still does not recognize the Jewish state,” huh? Actually, I think it has been “shunned” because it is a TERRORIST organization that fires rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilians and purposely blows up as many Israeli humans as possible in buses, supermarkets, and restaurants, on a daily or near-daily basis. Sorry —I meant so-called supermarkets.
For you CBC viewers: Hamas’ charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and its replacement with a Palestinian Islamic state in Israel, including the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. It is officially designated as a terrorist organization, in this country and others. Human Rights Watch stated that Hamas’ leaders should be held accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by its members.
