Recent Globe & Mail poll on Morgentaler award:  M.I.A.

Joel,

The question “Did Morgentaler deserve the OoC…” was removed from the G&M site.

Last result I saw was ~11,400 no’s and ~9300 yes’s. 56% no 44% yes

The G&M has chosen not to memorialize the results likely since they don’t agree with the editorial position of the paper.

Let me take this time to state that it is not common to elevate monsters to celebrity and state hero levels.

He is not a hero.

Paul W

I previously indicated that the Globe and Mail was almost alone in endorsing the award to the monster pro-abortionist and abortion mill operator, Henry Morgentaler.

Many online polls were taken during the controversy (the controversy which nearly all Canadians have by now dutifully forgotten so that more of the “progressive” can continue to chip away at our country), and from my scornful observation all (including the G&M poll) except one (which was badly formed) indicated that Canadians believe giving the monster Morgentaler the award was a mistake.  At the very least, the collective results demonstrated that the award was extremely divisive, and not at all conducive to unity within the nation.  In fact the exact opposite.  (Of course Canadians are over it already, as I said.)

“One of the purposes of the order was to, not only recognize eminent citizens that rendered important services that benefited all of Canada, but also to foster a sense of unity within the order and nationally,” he said. “This one appointment seems to chip away at that to some degree.”

—Christopher McCreery, the author of five books on the Canadian honors system, with regard to the Morgentaler award,
in a
Globe and Mail article.

• If you think this site is of no value, then don't pay anything for it, and it will fade into the sunset. That's capitalism at work.
