PTBC J-Log
A conservative OPINION blog --with bite. OPINION by Joel Johannesen.Monday, January 24, 2005
Canadian Islamic group becomes unhinged; shows anti-Christian attitude
The Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, who apparently think they run Canada (and maybe they do now, I’m not sure), are saying that if a Canadian family adopts an orphaned child from the tsunami-affected area, that Canadian family must raise him or her as a Muslim, no matter the religious or non-religious beliefs of that Canadian family. In fact they can’t even adopt them in the first place unless they’re Muslim, to avoid the risk that the young desperate ones might cotton-on to the evil ways of the Christians who adopted them in this mostly Christian land of Canada. That’s their rule. For us. In our country.
No doubt Prime Minister Paul (“we lead the world”) Martin will get right on this file and assuage the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada if he ever gets done leading the world and comes home to Canada again to lead the country for all the Muslims and gay folks and people who need government daycare and the young folks who need to get high on drugs by smoking pot without getting in trouble with the law, and so on. Priorities—am I right?
CHRISTIAN AID AGENCIES WARNED
A CANADIAN Islamic group is vowing to prevent the adoption by Christian families of Muslim children orphaned in the tsunami disaster. “Canadian Muslims will not allow that the custody of Muslim orphan children to be given to Christian families or any non-Muslim families,” reads a release issued yesterday by the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada.
The release goes on to say Christian missionaries are kidnapping Muslim children in Indonesia.
“It is now proven that the Christian missionaries do not help people on humanitarian grounds,” the release states. “They help people in order to exploit their needs and convert them to Christianity.”
(My bolding)
