MUST READ -  Kathy Shaidle’s Five Feet of Fury: CBC employee slags citizen over comment

Written by Joel Johannesen on Sunday July 20 2008 at 10:19 AM

As if to prove that the state-owned, state-run, taxpayer-funded-by-all-taxpayers CBC is working against citizens who aren’t on “their side”, Kathy scores with this blog post:

“CBC employees really need customer-relations training”

Michael Coren writes an excellent column at the Toronto Sun in which he expresses his opinion about the Omar Khadr video.  CBC employee slams him—using CBC email address and creds.

Unbelievable.

(UPDATE:  Naturally I immediately asked our friend Mr. Coren for permission to post the column that the CBC employee found ever so offensive, here at PTBC, and of course he happily obliged.)

Oh yeah—this reminds me to remind you to read this excellent #1 New York Times best-selling book:

Radio interview with Sgt in Afganistan who dodged grenade thrown by “the only one alive” - Khadr

Khadr’s mother speaks out from in there:  “Omar would need rehab”.

Followup: Khadr CRYING! No really!  Crying, I tells ya!

Omar Khadr Obsession Theater:  Khadr’s sitting in a big huge comfy chair…

I could hardly believe “ProudToBeCanadian” was available when I was looking for a web site domain name.  No liberal thought of it?  It took a true blue CONSERVATIVE to think of buying that name and starting a web site built around it?  What does that tell you?  ...  Please remember to support this site.

What a lame guy.  Joel, stay on this CBC = Hate thread because the CBC hate you and people like you, like me.

The CBC should be shut down.

Please God, find a way to have the CBC shut down.

It is so true Joel.  When talking to my Conservative friends I mention the bias in the CBC media and they look at me as though it is the first time they have heard this.

    /sigh

  6. Dacre says:

You have to wonder DonnaH just how conservative those Conservatives are. To the truly informed and engaged conservative there is no question as to how blatant the bias is and just how agenda driven the CBC is. I used to be surprised at the naivety of so many Canadians but it’s something one must learn to accept. Much like the three monkey’s.

  7. Dave Hodson says:

Dacre, I’m not sure it’s a matter of how conservative they are (though it could be), but more a matter of just how informed they are and their negligence to not do any research on issues.

I would bet the vast majority of Canadians are just not that connected to political news and issues of the day.  If they only casually watch an MSM so-called ‘news’ broadcast now and then, and even then rarely pay attention to the political reports, I could see how someone may not pick up on the bias, no matter how blatent it is to those of us who actually take the time to get involved and actually learn about what’s going on in the world.

I wouldn’t be surprised if half of all Canadians couldn’t tell you who the leader of the Liberal party is, but many would still vote for the idiot anyway, not even knowing who he was (voting by brand loyalty instead of informed decision making).  As scary as that is, considering the importance of what they’re voting for, many people just aren’t that connected.

I’m sure that many of the idiots who are calling for Omar Khadr to be brought back to Canada are saying so based solely on some casual glance of some innocent-looking childhood photo they saw of him on the news.  No knowledge of the issues, just a photo here and a soundbite there, and no exposure to the other side of the story.  Combine that with a naive believe that the media are basically honest and a bit of neglegence to not do any research yourself, and there you have it…  someone, who could have genuine conservative principles, forms an erroneous moonbat opinion without even knowing the bias they’re being fed.

  8. Dacre says:

I understand the point you are making Dave. But my idea of a true conservative is one that takes personal responsibility. And part of that responsibility is to remain at least somewhat informed and educated in our political process. It is not a conservative value to remain ignorant and uniformed and allow headlines, bumper stickers and sound bites to form ones opinions. To allow the country to be run on auto pilot by bureaucrats is very liberal in my opinion.

Posted by Dacre  from   on  Mon, July 21, 2008 at 9:05:59 AM

  9. Dave Hodson says:

I won’t argue with that.  However, I think those types of informed people form a big minority.  Personal responsibility seems to have died a long time ago, along with common sense.  That’s what keeps the Liberal brand going.  Dion’s probably counting on voters keeping their heads in the sand to sell his Green Shaft.  The scary part is, there could very well be enough ignorant idiots around for it to work, allowing the Libs to give everyone the green shaft while they line their pockets with our tax dollars again, and then come back for another totally oblivious beating at the next election.

How do you break that cycle?  How do you force the general masses to take the time to educate themselves?  Years of Liberal policies, with collaboration from the media and the Liberal school systems, have been successful at making society lazy.

Posted by Dave Hodson  from  Newmarket, Ontario  on  Mon, July 21, 2008 at 9:30:39 AM

  10. Dacre says:

I don’t know how you’d break the cycle. Once people take on the role of victim. And have been drawn into entitlement mentality combined with the expectation of a safety net for every possible curve life throws their way. Be it self inflicted or not you have a mind set that’s near impossible to break. The forever teenager and a respect for reckless irresponsible behavior has been rewarded since the 60’s. A system that rewards bad behavior at the expense of those with good behavior has a negative effect in general. At least half of our country has this expectation and votes for it’s continuation. It may end up being some catastrophic event that will snap people out of it. And such an event will no doubt be brought upon us from the path the majority had chosen to get us there. And there are plenty of good young people coming along, don’t forget that. There are reasons to be encouraged.
