What amazes me as an American is when folks from other countries express contempt or hatred for the US, they never bring up michael moore as a reason (unless it’s to dispense his “facts”).

If they did, it’d probably shut me up for a while.

And that is a fact that nobody here can argue with. Just look at the difference between Bishop Henry of Calgary being threatened by the government for his opinion on SSM and how the United Church gat’s positive press about theirs. And that’s just one example of many.

This smacks of Americans attempting to unduly influence how people in Canada should vote…

Oh, I see. It’s okay for Americans to influence a Canadian election if they are advocating “Liberal values” which = Canadian values. 

Only if some Canadians, who may or may not be Conservative, suggest that there may be some good ideas or solutions in the United States to our issues does it then become “right-wing Republican, rich friends of Bush, Chretien/Martin kept us out of Iraq, yada, yada, yada.”
