Friday, December 3, 2004Judy Sgro’s chief of staff has taken a leave of absence from the Immigration Ministers office.
Two seasoned political staffers have been brought in to deal with the fallout from the so-called “strippergate” scandal while Ihor Wons has left.
The controversy revolves around Sgro granting temporary resident status to a stripper who worked on her election campaign.
On Wednesday, the government cancelled the blanket visa program that made it easy for strip club owners to recruit foreign dancers.
