I just posted my column in the columnist section. I call this one “Gay ‘marriage’: liberals-vs-religious freaks, huh?”
It’s about how the liberals (politicians, media and everywhere else) are trying to frame the gay ‘marriage’ debate around the pretext of “rights”, and how it’s a battle between “us” (liberals) and “Christians” (traditional marriage supporters). I say it’s neither of those things. It’s not about rights, and it’s actually a battle between liberals—and Canada and Canadians.
For millions of pro-traditional marriage advocates, it has nothing to do with religion. It simply has to do with the institution of marriage and the protection of time-tested social structures.
