A conservative OPINION blog --with bite. OPINION by Joel Johannesen.Saturday, April 18, 2009
New stats: Minority now believe humans cause the “man-made global warming”
A smattering of stats to make those of us in the sensible set feel better (I’m all about the feeling better since I’ve been sick for the better part of two weeks):
In the “man-made global warming” department:
Just one-out-of-three voters (34%) now believe global warming is caused by human activity, the lowest finding yet in Rasmussen Reports national surveying. ... Forty-eight percent (48%) of all likely voters attribute climate change to long-term planetary trends, while seven percent (7%) blame some other reason. Eleven percent (11%) aren’t sure.
These numbers reflect a reversal from a year ago when 47% blamed human activity while 34% said long-term planetary trends. Most Democrats (51%) still say humans are to blame for global warming, the position taken by former Vice President Al Gore and other climate change activists. But 66% of Republicans and 47% of adults not affiliated with either party disagree. ...
Meanwhile, as usual, despite the ignorance of the Canadian media which purposely holds Fox News Channel out to be some sort of redneck hick backwater right-wing nutbar channel, is, as usual, and as has been the case for years, the number one cable news channel by a country mile. This speaks volumes about what Canadian media hacks think of Americans generally, and how they view anything that isn’t like them, which is to say largely corrupt, biased, left-wing, anti-conservative, ideological, agenda-drive media.

And as usual, the state-owned, state-run, federally-funded media in Canada, the ridiculous CBC dinosaur behemoth, is still a massive failure of mammoth socialist proportions. The stats continues to exemplify big, senseless government completely and utterly wasting taxpayer cash, and worse. In one of the biggest mysteries in our national storybook, the Canadian government still insists on funding this idiocy with our taxpayer money anyway, even knowing the stats, and knowing that its reporters and producers and anchors and executives continue to promote their overtly left-wing, clearly anti-conservative agenda, all built on a socialist model, and to generally advocate against the traditional values and conservative world views and best interests in nearly every manner of folks like me, all to the the tune of well in excess of ONE BILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR. And these dismal viewership numbers remain despite the fact that the CBC is still, as always, protected by rules and regulations that ensure that the CBC is beamed into every home in Canada, Iran-style.

The only CBC shows that make it into the top-anything in the ratings is the (American) Jeopardy game show, and hockey, which could possibly be shown on other channels, as I understand the technology as it exists in this country today.
The CBC and all sate-owned and state-run media should of course be banned in this country, and that notion enshrined in our constitution.
