As predicted: NDP now demands “women’s equality”

Written by Joel Johannesen on Wednesday September 05 2007 at 02:08 PM

After thirty or more years of women running this country, the socialists at the you’ve got to be kidding party are demanding that an “action plan” (woo!) to save women in Canada be established, post haste.  It’s an emergency.

This after I just got through reporting to you in a J-Lines quip that women now officially make up more than half of the knowledge-based jobs in the federal public service.  I wrote:

Women now hold more than half the knowledge-based jobs in the federal public service,  the federal agency reported Tuesday. ... You know what that means: time to adjust some other ratios: lesbians to non-lesbians, multicultural to plain old whities…. (hey how about hiring some conservatives?! Nah—too radical!) Also, of course, watch for another increase in that vital multi-million-dollar "Status of Women" budget! (And watch for the you’ve got to be kidding party’s Layton to demand a "Status of Men…Or Whateva"  ministry!)

This horrible women’s equality news clearly rattled the fringe leftists at the you’ve got to be kidding party, who fear that with this, the wind is being knocked out of their political sails and their reason for living, their relevance which never did exist, is now being dangerously diminished nonetheless if that’s even possible, which I don’t think it is.

Therefore they have to reinforce that phony notion that WOMEN ARE VICTIMS—Yes it’s true!  STILL!  Yes, they maintain, you gals are victims and need state supports—and you’re too lame and stupid and fragile and weak to make it on your own.  You’re stupid and useless!  Bet you didn’t know that!  But don’t worry:  the socialists at the you’ve got to be kidding party are here to save you.

As if on cue:

NDP urges action plan for women’s equality

Canadian Press

OTTAWA—The NDP, which says Canada’s progress on women’s equity is embarrassingly weak, is urging the government and other political parties to sign on to an action plan.

“Women today in Canada are so far behind the goal of equality,’’ said Judy Wasylycia-Leis, chair of the party caucus. “The fact is we have a situation of being an embarrassment on the international scene because of our lack of progress.’‘

Irene Mathyssen, NDP critic for the status of women said women in Canada “are now under attack economically, socially and politically.

“Many women in Canada are still not safe in their homes or on the streets. One in four women in Canada is the victim of sexual violence in her lifetime.’‘

She said women earn only 70 per cent as much as men and make up an inordinate share of the poor.

The MPs said Liberal and Conservative governments alike have cut funding for women groups and programs.

The NDP action plan calls for action in six areas:

“Fairness for women at work, better work-family balance, an end to the violence against women, making sure women’s voices are heard, fairness for marginalized women and equality for women around the globe.’‘

“This is a much-needed, very comprehensive action plan for equality in Canada,’’ said Wasylycia-Leis.

The you’ve got to be kidding party is in my opinion clearly sexist against women, whom they feel can’t make it in this world without state supports, cash, laws, policies, and the their nanny-state mentality.  Similarly, they are racist.
