A conservative OPINION blog --with bite. OPINION by Joel Johannesen.Tuesday, October 12, 2010
UPDATED: Liberal Ignatieff gets his death wish: no seat at UN Security Council
I can’t wait for the liberal media’s hilariously pro-liberal-left spin on this! It’s what makes living in this country so much fun!
I blogged a couple weeks ago about Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff’s bizarre comments, which, it should be noted, nobody in the media called bizarre, in which he declared to Canada and the whole the world, as broadcast on the liberals’ state-owned media division, that Canada did not deserve a seat at the UN security Council.
He said:
“...Canadians have to ask a tough question: Has this government earned that place?”
The self-esteemed progressive Liberal Michael Ignatieff: “Canada doesn’t deserve a seat at the U.N.”Even though he claimed “CANADIANS” have to ask the question, being a liberal big-government progressive in and therefore believing that Canadians are inherently incapable of doing anything on their own without the benevolent aid of government nobs, the self-esteemed one went ahead and answered for us anyway.
“We’re not convinced it has.”
Well that’s just awesome. Vote Liberal. Vote for progressives, who don’t believe in Canada, and who believe in themselves more than their country.
Clearly, UN voting members don’t want a country in the Security Council in which the potential Prime Minister of that country (and Canada’s “natural governing party” —thanks media!) doesn’t even believe it belongs there.
Note that other members of the Security Council in years past have been:
Lybia
Nigeria
Lebanon
Syria
Iraq
United Arab Emirates
Bangladesh
Vietnam
Republic of the Congo
Botswana
Possibly the ever so pro-Canadian progressive, Michael Ignatieff, thinks Canada is in the same league as those countries.
Oh and by the way, Canadians utterly disagree with the self-esteemed liberal progressive know-it-all.

UPDATES:
Liberal MP Dewar Throws Iggy Under Bus
“Ignatieff can speak for himself!”
Unidentified reporter in scrum was asked directly if Ignatieff’s statements didn’t contribute to the failure.
“Do you agree that [Ignatieff} undermined the government’s position?
Liberal MP Dewar responds:
“I’ll let Mr. Ignatieff speak for himself.”
So in other words, yes. He then immediately went on a long, drawn-out self-preservation rant about how he, himself, personally, offered to help in the bid. It’s all about him now. Watch him run for leadership in next leadership convention!
Post-Dewar remarks:
CBC ANTI-CONSERVATIVE SPIN MACHINE IN HIGH GEAR ALREADY
11:50 AM PDT
State-owned CBC reporter Rosemary Barton, in her CBC spin-o-mania, describing how it is the CONSERVATIVES who are already in spin mode:
“They’re [the PMO] is trying to spin this in some way that makes it sound better for them! ... “
And later, re the statements by Ignatieff:
”...the statements by Ignatieff ... which admittedly they weren’t the best thing politically to say!... [but]...”

Ignatieff totally back peddles, attempts to changes history
Ignatieff now claims “Canada deserved a seat on the U.N. Security Council”
Asked directly by a reporter if he bears any responsibility at all for the U.N. decision, Ignatieff said the exact opposite that he said at another time (see above). He said these exact words:
“Canada deserved a seat on the U.N. Security Council.”
I was praying for a shot of the looks on reporters’ faces when he said that. Alas, there was none. The media have no sense of humor.
