Is CUPE-Ontario an anti-Israel left-wing fascist party?

Written by Joel Johannesen on Monday February 23 2009 at 05:45 AM

image  I don’t know if they are or not.  Some might possibly say they are left-wing fascists, others might say they just hate Jews.  Others say they’re simply an altruistic union organization that only looks after its employees in negotiations with governments for labor contracts, and which doesn’t get involved in imagecrass far-left anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian politics when they’re not overtly using their web site and their other resources to publicly endorse and raise money for far-left political parties in Canada; and which isn’t in effect simply another branch of the NDP operating under the pretext of a labor union.

imageAnd some will ask:  is it just CUPE-Ontario, or the whole CUPE organization and all its members nation-wide?  Are CUPE workers all left-wing fascists?  Do we have an organized group of fascists working for the taxpayers of this country under what amounts to a far-left fascist political party?

No, it can’t be, I say.  This is Canada.  And that would be anti-Canadian in the extreme.  I’m going to assume that CUPE-Ontario and all its members aren’t anti-Israel fascists, don’t hate Jews, and that CUPE-Ontario and the entire CUPE union and all its members aren’t in fact extreme left-wing fascists surreptitiously operating an extreme left-wing fascist political party called CUPE, which uses its web site to promote and raise cash for far-left political candidates.

But anyway, the National Post headline today reads: “CUPE passes milder anti-Israel resolution” (Joel follows that up with his opinion: “...This time, but their leader may be softening them up and getting them and all of Canada used to the idea.”).

CTV reports “Jewish groups decry CUPE’s Israeli college boycott”  (to which Joel adds: “...Yeah and I’m so sure it’s a good idea to marginalize ‘Jewish groups’ like that and pretend that it isn’t in fact ALL OF CANADA rather than simply “Jewish groups’ that are utterly disgusted by that far-left CUPE and all its members”).
