Joel’s NewsQuips:State-run CBC opinion columnist quotes Karl Marx to prove her column’s point

Written by Joel Johannesen on Monday November 26 2007 at 01:13 PM

Karl MarxHeather Mallick Marxists appear, as if on cue.

It’s like they’re trying to help me prove my point.  Mere minutes after writing in a NewsQuip earlier this morning that thanks to liberals, Canada is thoroughly enveloped by liberals, leftists, and more than enough Marxists in all facets of our lives, a PTBC reader points me to the latest proof.  It’s the woman who is perhaps Canada’s worst “columnist”, the state-run CBC.ca’s state opinionator Heather Mallick.  To help bolster her anti-Harper, anti-Bush opinions today, she hilariously relies on none other than the author of the Communist Manifesto, her pal Karl Marx himself:  ”...Karl Marx was very good on this. ‘A criminal produces crimes,’ he wrote. To paraphrase him further: a professor produces papers, a chef, dinners and so on. A crook produces criminal law and all its components, including reports…”image Frankly, I have no idea what she was on about, as her column is simply stupid—centering on (and I’m serious here…) human bladders that explode due to excessive drinking, which I think she blames on Harper and Bush.  She then claims Bush’s Republican policies are universally “disgraced”;  and describes our Prime Minister as “the portly Canadian Shriner in a fez tootling behind the American bandwagon on a pint-sized scooter”.  Nice!  She then adds, “that’s embarrassing”.  Aw, poor thing.  The state-owned, state-run CBC-employed opinion columnist is embarrassed by our country’s Prime Minister. Even some of her normally sycophantic readers seemed to dismiss her idiocy in their reader comments.
(Hat tip to Greg for the heads up.)
