NatPo wins PTBC award with world biggest caveat

The NatPo feigns journalistic bravery today by boldly asking the very question on its front page that typifies what I and others like me do every day all day long, and have been doing for years, and they ask a big question, which they might better ask themselves:

“WILL OBAMA’S WORDS DRAW SAME REBUKES AS HARPER’S?”

“Starting to get to the point where buying stocks is a potentially good deal, if you’ve got a long-term perspective There’s probably some great buying opportunities emerging in the stock market as a consequence of all this panic.”
—U.S. President Barack Obama, yesterday.

“There’s probably some great buying opportunities emerging in the stock market as a consequence of all this panic.”
—Prime Minister Stephen Harper, October 7, 2008

They make the very point and lead readers to the very same conclusion that actual conservatives and intellectually honest folks like me having been making for years, with no help from them.  They’re not leading the pack here, they’re following the lead of the likes of me.  Not that they won’t lay claims to journalistic bravery and leadership — and pat themselves on the back — anyway.  So I’m reluctant to give them our little award, which I know they will more likely laugh at rather than covet in any case, because they are so self-esteemed… owing to their unique bravery and leadership…

Hey NatPo editors and reporters and columnists, so how about it:  how about instead of passively asking the question and pretending you’re simply being the honest news broker by exposing the hypocrisy of liberals in media and in the Opposition benches, and pretending your paper hasn’t been on the Obamaton-luvin’ Kool Aid Express for the past year, you actually confront the issue yourselves?  How come you don’t send reporters out and forcefully confront Jack Layton and Michael Ignatieff and several other liberals, face to face, and make them answer the question?  Those two in particular (but really all leftards including of course the media) spent these months constantly making a huge point of bashing and attacking Harper for seeing the positive, remaining calm, spreading the calmness, and doing things like calmly suggesting that this downturn could spell some terrific buying opportunities.  Seeing the positive.

How about at least an editorial about the obviously, hideously, liberal-biased media, and at least something of a mea culpa

How about you do as I suggested a long time ago, and be the one stand-out mainstream media source in this country that exposes the liberal media for what it is:  an overtly biased liberal-left anti-conservative machine?
