Quick: Whats the biggest news story for Canadians today?

You don’t have to own a web site and be able to see where your hits are coming from to know what’s on the minds of Canadians today.  This web site is seeing eight or ten times the number of hits—all related to Gomery.  On Saturday it was the Pope.

The Gomery Inquiry into the Liberal Party corruption scandal—also known as the biggest corruption scandal in the history of our nation—is clearly the biggest news of the day.  It’s so obvious that even bloggers in their jammies know that—even the evil right-wing “moron” bloggers that we hear so much about, despite their inherent stupidity.  Oh wait that’s me.  But see even I know what’s important.

So you know the liberal-left in Canada and its media mouthpiece, the state-run CBC division of the Liberal Party, is in full defensive mode when they start re-engineering the importance of events affecting our lives. They’re clearly feeling the pain for their Party on this whole Gomery Inquiry into their Liberal Party corruption.  You know it when they find… religion!

Liberal-lefties admire or even care about “Christianity” or news surrounding it about as much as they care about “traditional families”, or “defending our nation”.  It wasn’t one hour after the Pope died that the CBC posted their first negative story about the Pope.  They couldn’t wait even a day. That’s how much they respect a Christian leader and standard-bearer of morals in our lives.

But now that there’s something damaging about the Liberals to report, they choose to cover… the Pope story—in a very positive, honorable light.  Almost like they care that millions want to pay their final respects to the Pope.

It was amusing to watch the state-run CBC’s “Newsworld” when their top story on their big 11:00 AM (my time) news update was about…. the Pope, and how lots and lots of people are lining up to pay their respects.  Yes, people from all over the world.  Black people.  White people.  Young kids.  Old folks.  Many people.  Sad people. Short people.  People from Rome, and wait for it…. people from outside of Rome.  The last time they paid so much respect to anyone dying was when Yasser Arafat died.  I think they’re still in mourning over that.

The Pope is an important story to keep us updated on, and nobody (least of all liberals or CBC staff) needs to tell me that.  But it’s not the #1 story today, and they all know it. The Pope died three days ago.

Let’s make no mistake—this is how the CBC works:  If Conservative MP Joe Shmo from Tiddlywinks Nunavut came out in favor of gay ‘marriage’ today, that would occupy the first headline slot and they would take approximately 20 minutes to discuss it from every angle—gleefully—or at least from every liberal angle, gleefully. At least four esteemed professors of political science and sociology employed by state-funded leftist universities would be interviewed, as would Liberals, liberal-lefties, and of course copious liberal-lefty gay-folk.  Then the Pope story.

Anyway, I was curious and wanted to help verify the strength of my argument,  so I quickly checked CNN and CNBC.  Their top stories were, well, not the Pope. The Pope came in third or fourth.

The next story on the state-run media was about… the Zahra Kazemi Iran/Liberal/Pettigrew scandal—and while it’s yet another story harmful enough to bring the Liberal Party to its knees and cause their defeat in an election, it’s still not nearly as bad for them and their cause as…

…the Gomery Inquiry, which in reality is the number one story by a mile. This story, which could and should bring down our entire government and cause many in the ruling party to go to jail,  came in third on the CBC.

The re-writing of history takes place every moment in liberal media land.
