Alleged fraudsters ACORN to change name to fake-out conservatives and other critics?

PTBC reader Matt says the Obama-endorsing (and alleged fraudster) group ACORN (they’re community organizers! —wink!) is reportedly set to change their name, just as Fox News’ Glenn Beck predicted last week.  (Glenn Beck has been among the leaders of the charge to get actual facts and the hard, ugly truth about ACORN out into the national consciousness.  Apparently he’s achieving some success).  Matt was the one who caught a small swarm** of these extreme leftists in Ottawa last week protesting against a bank for, um, for being all “banky” and stuff, I think, instead of being all “Marxist” and stuff.

The Washington Examiner is reporting:

ACORN drops tarnished name and moves to silence critics

…ACORN executives have also changed their organization’s name, which was tarnished by investigations in at least 14 states of allegations of voter registration fraud during the 2008 presidential campaign, and charges by current and former members of financial mismanagement and misrepresentation.  …

** I searched for just the right collective noun for these ACORN heads (“ACORN heads” being rejected almost immediately, “nuts” being too easy, and even “nutbars” being pedantic given the inherent “nut” connection with the word ACORN), and I settled for “swarm”, as in “a swarm of maggots”.  Other collective nouns I often use are “tribe” (for liberals and further leftists), and “liberals” (for liberals).

Here’s a list of objects and the collective nouns that are supposedly appropriate for them according to scientists and other cone-heads.  All of these could work except for the collective noun for ladybirds.
