CBC “News” does a downward doggy for their Trump-hating fan base

I’m smellin’ a Pulitzer!

I guess this is why taxpayers fund the state-owned CBC to the tune of in excess of $1.5 BILLION per year.  It’s stories like this. So proud. So proud. And so informed!

But in defence of actual journalism, let’s be like their Justin Trudeau and try to figure out the “root causes” of this — this example of state media news or journalism malpractice.

Did the state-owned media launch an exercise in investigative journalism trying to find examples of anti-Trump hatred? Surely not. That wouldn’t be fair and balanced, which the CBC claims it is.

OK so let’s say that the Yoga studio sent their ever-so newsy information to the state-owned media, or a local resident or a customer sent it in hoping (or knowing) that CBC would run with it to help advance their anti-Trump political agenda. If so, is the state-owned CBC now seen by some on the left as just another one of those left-wing anti-Trump blogs like Huffington Post, rather than a supposedly serious and fair and balanced and extremely subsidized state-owned news organization which would never go with such biased nonsense? Seems so. So that’s weird. How’d the CBC get that reputation amongst lefties?

Either way, the CBC decided to run with this “news” story.

The lengthy CBC “news” story about this on their state-owned website strains to explain that it’s really just about avoiding “stress” in the yoga studio with all the political talk as a result of President Trump’s fast-paced action, with several direct quotes from the yoga studio boss to that effect. The photo of the studio’s “trump-free zone” notice does depict the unambiguous political position of the owners however. Amidst their quest for calm and political (or at least Trump) silence, they point out that they support Planned Parenthood and other lefty organizations. So they are unambiguously left-wing, as if I had to tell you. Or as if they had to tell you. They didn’t have to tell anyone that. They wanted to. So they did. Now the rest of y’all, shut it — if I understand correctly.

But this is not so much about the yoga studio owners, who I’m sure are very nice people who simply want to create a nice environment for their yoga classes. It is about state-owned CBC “News” deciding to post this as a news story. It seems tendentious to say the very least.

I wonder how they’d depict a pro-Trump shop or business office if they were ever advised of one.  Because I am pretty sure they wouldn’t treat it with quite so much deference as they did the yoga studio owners in this story. I think they’d be treated as heretics and zealots and nutbars. But I don’t think we’ll ever know how they’d write up a news story about a pro-Trump business.

So the “root cause” is that the state-owned CBC implores you to see the world as they do: anti-Trump. That’s a media with a left-wing agenda. And you can’t trust a media with an agenda. In this case you have to pay for it, but still, you can’t trust it.

Proof that Canada’s news media is far-left

A “think” tank called Public Policy Forum, wherein the word “think” apparently means “socialism,” has pooped-out a large “public policy” turd, which will appeal to all progressives — liberals, socialists, communists, the Canadian news media alike: it is to give taxpayer money to the Canadian media “to deal with the financial crunch in the media industry and the ensuing perils to Canada’s democratic institutions.”

Huh. Sounds lofty. Also stupid.

By the way, they got federal funding to come up with this gem. Seriously.

Canada’s media industry needs major federal cash injection: report

A major report on the crisis in Canada’s media industry is recommending changes to Canada’s tax system and to the CBC’s revenue model to boost funding for private and non-profit news operations, in addition to calling for a $100-million federal investment in the creation of a new Journalism & Democracy Fund.

The Fund would also receive annual funding derived from tax changes to digital advertising, giving the new body annual funding of $300- to $400-million a year to distribute among Canadian media organizations.

But at least they recommend killing the left-wing state-owned and state-funded CBC, right? Ha. No, don’t be so silly. They do not suggest dismantling the state-owned and massively taxpayer-funded CBC, or stopping its taxpayer funding in order to quash the “financial crunch” which that behemoth has obviously caused the media advertising and subscriber market in Canada. It seems the thinkers in the tank (so to speak) didn’t even study that possibility for some reason. Apparently they take as a given that state-owned, taxpayer-funded media is a good thing, and the free market (or what’s left of it in Canada) should just essentially join them in being state-funded, if only to a lesser degree.

The Canadian news media generally seems to be for all this. If they weren’t, they be in high dudgeon and smearing it with at least 86 “news” stories and editorials, just as they do daily to relieve their hate-on for President Trump. They also join the thinkers in supporting the CBC, notwithstanding their own ruination caused in large part by the CBC. I see practically no editorial stand taken by the private Canadian media against the CBC as a general matter. Which is just weird, unless they really do appreciate socialism.

As if suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, none of the news media covering this story includes this bit of the thinky report, which I found on page 25 (after waking myself up several times):

Among traditional news and advertising vehicles, only radio, with its hyper-local orientation (crime news, traffic, weather, hometown sports) and no revenue competition from CBC, has managed to hold its revenue position. And then there’s the CBC itself, the main alternative to daily newspapers as a producer of civic-function news across the country. Despite the budget cuts it experienced (a hole plugged in Budget 2016 by the Liberal government), in relative terms, the CBC has fared well over the past decade. In the first six months of the current fiscal year, CBC’s revenue is up 14.5 percent over last year, including a $45-million (40 percent) leap in ad revenue.

As I was reading the Globe & Mail’s utterly uncritical story, which might well have been published in Soviet-era Pravda, I was listening to liberalvision CTV “News” Channel and the state-owned CBC News fiasco network in the background. Between them they presented me with at least 6 vehemently anti-Trump “news” stories — in a row.  Seriously. It went on for nearly an hour. Perhaps a “think” tank should have studied that phenomenon and its effect on the market, and profitability.

Maybe (and I know I’ve said this at least once before), the liberal-left Canadian media could switch it up a bit, and try a new thing — start an experiment where they try to tolerate conservatives and conservative thoughts and ideas, and don’t just mock conservatives and Republicans all day long, every day. Their taxpayer-funded 100-page “major” “report” doesn’t even suggest trying anything like that, notwithstanding the immense success Fox News Channel found in the U.S. in market share (they are number one by far), and their profits, and thus their sustainability.

Page one of my (free) report is this headline: Sell and Stop Funding the CBC. Enough said right there. So actually it would end at that headline on page one. Nobody would fall asleep, lose any more tax dollars, and Canadians would actually save huge amounts of tax dollars and get better media too.

Canadian TV’s All-American Ratings for Dec 1 2016: Where’s the State-Owned CBC?

I used to present these charts or lists all the time, but I haven’t for a long time. It’s English Canada’s TV viewing habits in a snapshot.

This is the Canadian (english-language) viewership ranked from number 1 to 30 for the week of November 14 to November 20, 2016.*

As you can see, the state-owned media is almost utterly ignored by most Canadians. Just why it is that so many Canadians insist on paying for it anyway — is beyond me. Logic flies out the window on this one.

The CBC pops up on line number 10 but it’s a hockey game. You can make your own mind up as to whether we need to provide $1.5 BILLION per year to the state-owned CBC in order to broadcast hockey games. Others can do it just as well or better I think.

If there were no hockey game, the CBC would have to wait until you got down to line 17 with MURDOCH MYSTERIES. That’s a show which started on Rogers’ CITY channels, and was later picked up by the state-owned CBC to run in competition against citizen-owned CTV, Global and the others. The CBC did not create this show, they merely pay for the right to broadcast it, just as the other Canadian channels all routinely do — and did — to get onto this ranking list. But of course the private companies did it with their own money rather than with taxpayer cash.

So also note that almost every single show on the list is an American-based and American-created show, which Canadian channels buy. Canadian news does rank in the top 30, and the CFL playoffs sneaked in at number 30. Apparently I was right when at age 14 I figured out that the state cannot social-engineer a state-sanctioned “Canadian culture,” and that it’s actually something that evolves organically — and among the people individually, rather than from the government down to the masses.

It’s not that there aren’t Canadian shows out there. There are. It’s just that nobody watches them. Here’s a personal anecdotal tidbit: Corner Gas (CTV) was a good show until the star, Brent Butt, who I used to think was funny, started seriously slamming religion — all religion generally — on Twitter, in light of the radical Islamist jihadist terrorist attacks in Kenya. He used the hashtag “#yayreligion”. Brent Butt tars Christians with the exact same brush as radical Islamic terrorists, so I stopped watching his show. His show is cancelled now but is in reruns still. I won’t watch it. I watched Corner Gas and those sorts of shows — like NFL football (Go Seahawks!… unless you go all “Black Lives Matter” on me before every game), to get away from left-wing politics. I think a lot of people do, which might help explain the CBC’s dismal ratings.

Finally, note that the CBC News is not on the list. Canadians prefer the privately-owned CTV News by a huge margin. I call CTV “Liberalvision.” The CBC is even further left. I think I’ll call them “Alt-Left.” I think that may be why nobody watches CBC News. I’m surprised Global doesn’t show any news presence here. Global might want to try a conservative-tolerant model, which seems to appeal to Americans — if Fox News Channel’s #1 ratings are any indication and I think it is. For years, FNC almost constantly beats CNN and the far-left MSNBC by double their numbers – combined. Sometimes, they have ranked as the number one cable channel period — not just cable news, all of cable.

The list goes as far as 30 and CBC News is obviously somewhere below that rank. It could be number 31 or 81 — I don’t know. But if they can’t ever crack the top 30, it seems quitting the news business might be the best option for the state-owned media, strictly from a financial standpoint, as the network news business is extremely expensive, and they’ve obviously utterly failed after all these many years and countless billions in taxpayer dollars. I guess you could and should say the same for the rest of their network. They’ve clearly failed. And there are other reasons aside from the purely financial for the state to remove itself from news and politics and entertainment which always skew left or far left — “Alt-Left” as I now call it. For example, the state shouldn’t compete against its own citizens in business for profit and their livelihood and that of their family. There are other examples.

The CBC explained, for you wretches and cranks.

So much CBC nuttery.

The Globe & Mail’s guy who sits on the couch all day and watches TV — mostly CBC, if we are to take him at his word about the importance of it to humankind, preaches the same old CBC line. Yes it’s a repeat.

It’s time for another episode of  “Canadians Are Rightly Questioning Having a State-Owned Taxpayer-Funded Media Behemoth Like the CBC, and are Getting Slammed as Wretched Cranks in the National Media for Doing So.”  It’s a sitcom in the North Korean genre.

The ideas about the CBC being put forth by Conservative leadership candidates Kellie Leitch (whose model I agree with) and Maxime Bernier, are summarily deemed by the Globe & Mail’s official expert to be “horse manure” — insulting and yet queerly anodyne language he might have picked up on CBC TV in the late 1950s.

But to Doyle, it’s “horse manure,” in exactly the same way as “the screening-immigrants thing” is. Which pretty much proves he’s a CBC watcher. His whole column mixes his alt-left politics and his loved for the state-owned media. Just like the CBC does! No wonder he loves it.

Alt-left aside for a moment, why such language restraint? On the hipster state-owned CBC they go right ahead and say “shit” anytime they want. Does Doyle not get that their sitcom “Schitt’s Creek” is an ever-so folksy play on the word Shit? And the libertine envelope-pushing goes on and on at the CBC all day long: they don’t shy away from showing full frontal nudity and showing videos about waxing one’s balls (yeah I mean young men’s testicles) and pickles coming out of a girl’s ass. Talk about shit!

All of that CBC fare on the state-owned media is just fine with Doyle — it’s Leitch’s position on the CBC that he finds “shameful and an embarrassment” — missing the irony completely, possibly because he’s clueless.

Leitch and Bernier are clueless. Television is the most important, influential storytelling medium of our time.

Huh? I don’t think Leitch or Bernier want to cancel television. This is like trying to argue the importance of toe jam by stating as your opening premise the ever so controversial argument that the human body is the most important and influential toe jam medium of our existence. We don’t want to eliminate human bodies. It’s the confounded toe jam that concerns us. Nobody likes it.

During his post-U.S. election hangover, Doyle reported on November 9 that nobody was watching the CBC:

Meanwhile, over on CBC, Peter Mansbridge was dozily complimenting Adrienne Arsenault on the trees near the White House that acted as a backdrop to her report. Not that anyone cared about CBC coverage.

It may also be worth mentioning that the CBC isn’t just the toe jam of television — it’s also all over the radio, satellite radio, and all over the internet.

Doyle seems to suddenly remember we’re only talking about cutting the CBC and not all of television, and then becomes unhinged (my bolding):

The idea that CBC television and radio is a frivolity, sucking up vast amounts of money to make bad TV and irrelevant radio, is the position of a small number of well-off cranks in Toronto and Montreal, aided by a number of other cranks who, one imagines, stave off personal wretchedness by ceaselessly pointing out that the CBC gets funding to make TV and radio, while they don’t.

Well that turned ugly quickly. So guess what, we’re all just a goddamn basket of… cranks, who are all trying to “stave off [our] personal wretchedness.” There goes his language restraint. Let me be an “important storytelling medium” for you:

Move over Hillary Clinton, you’ve been trumped — pun intended — by an even bigger, more insulting, more out of touch, elitist, bigoted ass than you. And like you, he’s the opposite of Donald Trump. Hilariously, it’s John Doyle, in his other capacity as a smug, condescending left-wing political guru, who advises — as if in Bizarro World — to all the misguided, unlike him:

If they’d all paid attention to the reality-TV dynamic used by Donald Trump to win an election, they might not have woken up one recent morning in puzzlement about how and why Trump was the president-elect.

Right back atcha. I wasn’t in puzzlement, I was still drunk with happiness. But then I don’t watch the CBC if at all possible, and I do watch Fox News Channel, so that might explain that.

The John Doyles of the world are people in a liberal-left bubble so tight they have no idea that this following bit makes no sense to most Canadians:

Understanding it and why it has impact is rather necessary information to have, prior to denouncing any area of it. In the specific matter of CBC TV, to cite one example, Kim’s Convenience is not forgettable, irrelevant, or badly made; nor is it, in Bernier’s phrase, an example of “bad Canadian copies of popular American shows.”

What’s “Kim’s Convenience?” The basic proposition about being “forgettable” is that you know what the thing is in the first place.

I had to look it up. Kim’s Convenience is a CBC TV show (also on the state’s YouTube Channel). It’s another vital sitcom. (Thank you benevolent government for the vital state laughs!)  It’s the story of the Kims, a Korean-Canadian family, running a convenience store in downtown Toronto.

Episode #1: entitled “Gay Discount.”
Description: “after being accused of homophobia, Appa decides to offer a store discount to gay customers during Toronto Pride Week.”

Of course you deplorables hicks in the small towns outside of the enlightened Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal is who this is really for. And you love it so, so much. To wit:

Outside of Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, the CBC is a vital presence, providing local coverage and Canadian content, which, though diminished, is vastly appreciated by residents of cities big and small and in rural areas.

Except that it isn’t. Reason number 146 for nixing the state-owned CBC is: “Nobody watches the CBC.” (146-B: “Root cause: Because it’s horse manure”).

Doyle’s bottom line:

Dismantle it or reduce it to the begging-bowl status of PBS and all of that is gone.

All of what?

But Doyle explains it so well here:

You have to live in the bubble of the well-off establishment to be blind to the CBC’s importance.

So I’m part of the well-off establishment. I did not know that. Actually, it’s struggling taxpayers who fail to see why we should fund something so irrelevant. I’d say nice try, but it wasn’t even.

Doyle’s own bottom line about the CBC came directly out of his bottom. By which I mean it’s full of shit. Human shit. This I learned by watching other channels and having a clue.

 

State-owned media — and all state-owned business in which the state competes against its own citizens — should be banned in this country, and that notion should be enshrined in the constitution.

Globe & Mail columnist suddenly realizes that CBC is an existential threat to his employer… and him. Then goes back to sleep.

Hey remember that state-owned, socialism-reliant CBC that I’ve been writing negatively about for a decade and a half, here? And remember how I repeatedly write that the CBC is literally the state competing against its own citizens?

Well don’t worry, the Globe & Mail’s on the case today. After 65 years. They should call themselves an oldnewspaper.

Actually it’s not even the Globe & Mail itself that has awoken from its CBC-luvin’ stupor, but at least they allowed a columnist to go off the reservation for five minutes. Today Konrad Yakabuski chimes in on the socialist lunacy that is the state-owned CBC (he calls it neither socialist nor lunacy nor even state-owned, of course, proving he’s got a mile to go yet). Here’s his big breaking news (by which we mean news to him):

… Ottawa is pumping an additional $675-million into the CBC at the very moment the country’s leading private media outlets are struggling to stay afloat amid fragmenting audiences and advertising dollars. Something about this picture just isn’t right. …

You don’t say. And actually, you all didn’t say anything, for 65 years. In fact quite the contrary.  Here’s what Yakabuski wrote exactly a year ago, regarding how the appointment of Mélanie Joly as the new Liberal government’s minister in charge of the CBC felt, to him:

It also felt like glasnost at a public broadcaster that had spent a decade under the thumb of an oppressive Conservative gulag.

The irony (to say nothing of the insult) of referring to glasnost and “gulag” in connection with Conservatives and the state-owned media — seems lost on Yakabuski. The Gulag was the former Soviet Union’s agency that managed forced labour camps during the reign of the socialist/communist mass murderer and dictator Joseph Stalin, until the 1950s. Stalin also ran the state media. He wasn’t really known to be that fiscally conservative actually, and didn’t fancy capitalism and private enterprise much at all. He’d have loved the CBC as much as today’s Liberals do, although he’d likely have hacked their idiotic budget way back.

The CBC broadcast this bumper image during its pre-2006 election newscast, causing an uproar, later writing to a concerned citizen that all the uproar was caused merely “by the website ProudToBeCanadian”

But you know, with these people, the “oppressive” conservatives are either running a gulag, or we’re Nazis.

But the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and its gulags and state-owned media having been mercifully rendered a shitstain on world history, let’s go back to today’s Yakabuski column:

“We don’t think that we compete,” CBC/Radio-Canada president Hubert Lacroix insisted, incredulously, before the House of Commons Heritage committee last month. “There is nothing in the [Broadcasting Act] or in our mandate that prevents us from delivering these services to Canadians in the most effective way – on the contrary.”

So change the mandate. The latter currently does not explicitly prevent the CBC from competing with private media. It should.

So change the mandate you say? Stop it from competing with private media? That’s hilarious. Why now, suddenly, comrade?

… Canadians do not watch them, forcing an already bloated CBC to seek advertising revenue elsewhere.

Hence, the CBC’s push into digital opinion content. Compared to dramatic programming, this is a low-cost venture that might actually turn a profit – and kill off a few already dying newspapers in the process.

Well now they’ve gone too far! Get me one o’ them “neo-cons” on the horn! 

Yakabuski seems to have suddenly realized that the ever-growing, socialism-reliant CBC is just being progressive — and thus the creeping socialist giant is now threatening him personally, or professionally, more and more. This is as it is supposed to be. Yakabuski is starting to “feel the Bern!” from a state-owned “business” competing against him and his livelihood — much as we’ve warned for nearly 20 years — and he doesn’t like it. Boo hoo.

He’s all about reigning in that CBC now.

Instead of using the cash infusion from taxpayers to improve core services, particularly regional news operations, the CBC is using some of the money to expand its digital footprint into yet more areas where it competes directly with private media for the same advertising dollars.

Oh I’m in tears for him. Tears of laughter.

The CBC advertises a lot. They really want to get their messaging out.

Forget ad revenue. Yakabuski doesn’t mention the CBC also competing for attention to its left-wing messaging, as the CBC spends money (ours) and advertises itself all over every type of media simply to try to get you to pay attention to them instead of any of the competition. That is another another missed clue.

I’ll give Yakabuski some credit: Today he is all concerned ‘n stuff, because of the public interest, see.

But if a bigger, more predatory CBC only kills off private competitors, how does that serve the public interest?

Yeah. Exactly the point we’ve been making — but you haven’t — for like 20 years. Too bad you didn’t spend more time reading ProudToBeCanadian.ca instead of watching inane CBC “comedy” fare and giving the CBC a pass (or worse) all these years. Forgive us if we don’t think you really give a hoot about “The public interest” vis-a-vis the CBC.

Purolator-state-ownedHey here’s some more breaking public interest news: For the past 24 years, the state-owned Canada Post has owned one of Canada’s largest courier companies, Purolator Couriers, which competes directly against all the private citizen-owned companies. As we’ve been telling you. You could use all of the same arguments about that abomination as you could for the CBC abomination — even invoking your grand “public interest” canard.

So break your own apparent mandate. Write-up a breaking news column decrying the state-owned Canada Post owning Purolator. Include your laments about all the dozens of other market and career and business-wrecking state-owned “businesses”.  Yeah we know they don’t affect your livelihood directly like the CBC does, so do it because that would actually be in the public interest.

Yakabuski’s column, entitled “The CBC has lost its way,” is ironic if nothing else. The CBC is growing exactly as it has been for 65 years. The only people who are lost are those who are just now realizing the damage that has been done and is continuing to be done –when the state competes against its own citizens.

State-owned CBC NEWS tips readers to virulently anti-Trump OPINION piece — at their NEWS site. (Again).

Donald Trump’s victory was the most dramatic demonstration yet that liars can win elections. All he had to do was demonize reason and fact as the province of hated “elites.”

This is scary, for all countries and for reasons beyond the frightening contents of the Trump platform itself.

It’s an opinion piece. It’s not a news story. But I do understand your confusion given it’s from the CBC News. So do they. They know exactly what they’re doing. They were trying to confuse you. Have you heard the term “Rick-rolled?” It’s a lie, really, but in this case an especially egregious one because it’s the state-owned media who’s doing it to its citizens. It’s either that or they’re all utterly bereft of any understanding about what real fair and balanced and honest journalism is, which after all the money we’ve given up to them, they should better understand by now, don’t you think?

For all the writer’s haughty talk of Trump’s “lies,” it’s a tad ironic isn’t it?

Oh and why does state-owned media even have political opinion pieces — especially when they’re almost universally left-wing opinions? Who knows?! That’s the only thing I find “scary” and “frightening,” to use the writer’s own words about Trump.

Anyway, it’s written by someone (Kate Heartfield — “for CBC News,” mind you) who is apparently (to me, anyway) a Trump hater. Read on, and you’ll find she’s just as suspicious of Canadian Conservatives too, warning them and all of us, thusly:

Perhaps there’s a way for the Conservatives to honour both head and heart – to appeal to values without abandoning reason and embracing bigotry. The Conservatives can say “no” to a lazy dependence on slogans, on the nearest convenient enemy – a dependence they know full well encourages racism, sexism, anti-Semitism and homophobia. They can try to come up with a less destructive appeal to “common sense.”

Sounds like the “Basket of Deplorables” crap all over again. I’m quite sure the state-owned CBC would adore the moniker “Basket of Deplorables – North.”

But back to the bigger point, which is that the deplorable CBC and its left-wing opinion contributors might want to summon-up a modicum of honesty and at least take a cue from their bible, the New York Times, who, even though they likewise lie all day long in their reporting and columns and op-eds, do try to sometimes differentiate their opinion pieces from the news with a separate Twitter OPINION account.  Here’s an example wherein they smear Trump, as usual, because that’s all they do, but at least they’re not trying to fake you out like the CBC:

With that, we have no trouble understanding it’s more anti-Trump whiney-crap bloviating — and go ahead and avoid it. Again I do understand your confusion when reading anything from the left-wing media today, inasmuch as it’s mostly lies and left-wing bias whether contained within their “news” stories or opinions.

State-owned media should be banned in this country, and that notion should be enshrined in our constitution. That’s truth.

“CBC in Cuba”. We can only hope they love it and stay

“CBC IN CUBA: Cuban activist thinks Trudeau visit will help chip away at state control.”

Yeah…. I’m not so sure Trudeau is your man to “chip away at state control.” Especially as reported by the state-owned, and Trudeau backed, CBC. In fact I’m sure of it. And if I’m cbc-2016-11-16_080811honest, while I’m sure the Cubans desire it (Cuban exiles all voted for Trump), I’m not at all sure the CBC or Trudeau desires any such “chipping away at state control.”

I can’t stop chuckling whenever I see the state-owned CBC referring to anything in the socialist/communist world which is “state-owned” or “state-controlled.” I always think they must be cringing every time they are forced to reconcile with themselves that they too are state-owned and state-controlled, and I wonder if they’re embarrassed being in the same state-owned boat as institutions in Cuba, North Korea, or any number of other socialist/communist failed states.

And then I wake up, and realize that of course they’re not embarrassed and of course they don’t cringe. It’s exactly what they want.

When Justin Trudeau comes home, assuming he will come back from his grand outreach to the communists, he will carry on chipping away at our personal responsibility, individual control, private enterprise — and building-up state control. The CBC will flourish.

SICK. CBC sends ambulance to revive their Hillary

Too much talk of Hillary Clinton being ill (and more to the actual point, lying about it) has caused a giant panic attack at the state-owned CBC. They did an official state media “Analysis” about this concern. cbc-sept-20-crop-hl-1

Don’t worry, ALL U.S. presidents have ALWAYS had HIDDEN health issues!

Here’s how the article begins:

Some critics have questioned Hillary Clinton’s fitness to be president of the U.S. because she came down with pneumonia. You gotta be kidding!

The state-owned CBC starts a supposedly serious “analysis” in this way, and WE’RE the ones who “gotta to be kidding?”

Even without a state-financed analysis of the situation, the CBC knows only too well the problem is not pneumonia (or even “the ‘flu,” as Bill Clinton tried to lie it off) — it’s Hillary and Bill Clinton’s (and team’s) constant lying and covering up. That’s the far bigger sickness. The CBC has no idea what other health issues (or other issues) she’s lying about or covering up. The CBC just takes it on faith that there’s nothing else, in spite of evidence of his and her past lying and covering up as a chronic problem.

The CBC knows they’re wrong on the very premise of this thing. And the really sick thing is that they know they’re wrong and go with it anyway, to try to infect you, the reader.

So here we have the state-owned media actually stepping up to protect liberals with a joke of an analysis — and put down her political opposition. Sounds un-Canadian to me — more like North Korean. But that’s just my analysis, and it wasn’t paid for with tax dollars so take it with plenty of water on an empty stomach.

Among the 43 U.S. president who they discovered through their exhaustive analysis to be just the same as Hillary Clinton are these six (yes six): Reagan, Kennedy, Cleveland, Wilson, Lincoln, and Washington.  No that’s it’s not “always,” but if you expect a fair “analysis” from the CBC on a political matter, you gotta be kidding.

State-Owned CBC Promotes “Dreamy Trudeau.” (Seriously). But Don’t Worry, They’re Not Biased.

There might be a million photos of Donald Trump. But when you as an employee of a news agency take the time to find and then settle on the photo below to attach to your latest sneering tweet about Donald Trump; for you as a “professional” to abandon any semblance of journalistic neutrality and choose instead to demonstrate your hate in as public a way as humanly possible… you could only have a job at the liberal-left’s state-owned CBC.

Apparently job security is not an issue for the clearly anti-Trump (etc) employees of the state-owned CBC. Any remaining pretense of neutrality is now apparently completely out the window thanks to their Liberal Party victory. It seems demonstrating their anti-conservative, pro-liberal bias is now more an editorial policy, if anything.

That journalistic malfeasance is from the news agency that avoids the use of the term “Islamic terrorist” because it might be seen as “taking sides,” and says “holidays” instead of “Christmas” to avoid “offending someone.”

Let’s compare that to how they carefully chose an ever so neutral picture of their true love, also from today. It has almost exactly the same editorial tone as the Trump one above:

White CBC Reporter Writes Something, Gets Away With It

CBC’s execrable columnist Neil Macdonald published an article today (Feb 18th, 2015) about the tragic case of a White man shot to death while his hands were raised in surrender by a White police officer among a phalanx of Neil_Macdonald_CBCother White officers, so of course the author had to lead with…

“White privilege didn’t protect John Greer. That’s not to say he didn’t have it.”

He then goes on to describe a situation with absolutely no racial component other than the one he injects himself at the beginning of his article, an article in which “White Privilege” is never mentioned or hinted at again after those first two sentences.

The fact that a Leftist ideologue like Macdonald is paid by the CBC out of the public purse, with no corresponding contrary voice from the Right, is all the reason Canadians should need to demand defunding of the CBC.

The state-owned CBC: they’re not like us.

CBC-2014-10-06_163436(500px)Last week, the state-owned (and therefore backward, but we digress) CBC asked its notoriously far-left extremist viewers whether they supported the Harper administration’s plans to combat ISIS terrorists with our air power. Here’s how that went, left – by which we mean look at the graphic at left, in this case.

Now… you’ll just have to do as we did, overlook the technical errors in reporting, and accept it on faith that they simply transcribed the numbers wrong, and it is all backward. (Yes, their editor had just one job… etc.)  Also note that this isn’t the main point, just something we have to stumble through.

Their Yes with 1351 votes should be No, since 1351 is closer to 71% than 28%, which is closer to 455 votes.  So they got the Yes/No backward, the numbers backward, or the percentages backward.*

Here’s all we need to know:  71% of CBC viewers said no, they do not support the mission.

We can be sure of this correctness of this particular mop-up of their editing mess, because the CBC’s viewers consistently vote whatever the opposite of the Conservatives’ policy stand might be. For example today, they voted 84% NO on the question, “Do you think airstrikes will defeat ISIS?” (– which is itself a stupid, strawman question, since nobody is claiming that airstrikes alone will “defeat ISIS.” That’s not up for discussion in any realm).

OK so just shake it off and move onward – or backward – to the next, more salient, and backward, aspect of the CBC and its viewers, who aren’t like us:

Today the CBC ran a story about the national polling on the subject of air strikes. Here’s how that went, according to their own reporting:

Ipsos Reid poll for Global News on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, found 64 per cent of Canadians were somewhat or strongly supportive of a Canadian participation that included air strikes…

That’s getting darn close to exactly the opposite of their own viewers. They also mentioned other polls, such as the Angus Reid poll, which closely reflected the Ipsos poll, above, which again is in direct opposition to CBC viewers.

They also allow this bit:

In the surveys by Abacus Data and Angus Reid Global, fewer Liberals and New Democrats opposed a combat role of some kind than those who were in favour of one. It suggests both Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair could find themselves offside with party supporters in their opposition to the mission.

Holy mis-read of Canada and Canadians. That article will leave a mark on the CBC’s (tiny) fan base. I detect a possible job opening at the state-owned media behemoth.

Between the state-owned CBC, Trudeau’s being out of sync with his own party, Mulcair’s similarly being out-of-sync with his party, and together their both being out of sync with Canadians; and then also add the CBC being out of sync with Canadians at large… well that’s a lot of wrong and out of touch and out of sync and backwardness, in one ugly package, for the so-called progressives.

But sticking with the CBC alone (although the question could and probably should be asked of those two left-wing leaders as well): how can we – or how can the CBC and its fan base – really claim that the CBC represents Canada or Canadians (arguably their very mandate), when their viewers are so consistently unlike -– virtually the opposite – of Canada and Canadians at large? We can’t. They can’t. Nobody can.

But wait — it’s the viewers who are backward and out of sync, you say. So what, we can’t blame the CBC for their viewers?

Let’s have a laugh and do as their side’s Justin Trudeau does, and seek to find “root causes.” Trudeau does this in lieu of thinking, or of admitting to the fallacy of his own liberal-left or PC “logic.”  We do it to hoist them by their own petard.  The CBC’s viewers are this way because the CBC is this way. The CBC has welcomed, and cultivated, and given a warm home – a gathering spot – to this out-of-sync, left-wing mob. Just read the often extremist, radical left-wing statements, and the sometimes disgusting smears against conservatives, which apparently pass for “reader comments” on almost any CBC.ca article, for proof of that. Or, for example, just watch the CBC, especially their “news.”

The fact is, state-owned, socialism-reliant, taxpayer-funded media is itself a backward concept in a free and freedom-seeking country, and that provides us with all the “root cause” we need to explain them and their viewers both now being so backward – so completely out of step with Canadians. They’re innately wrong. Inherently wrong. Systemically wrong. They’re all out of sync with Canada. They are not like us by nature or by nurture.

Not coincidentally, judging by their viewership numbers, most Canadians don’t like them either.

*Pull out a calculator and try to get the percentages that the CBC got, given the numbers they present (assuming the backwardness is merely a typo). It doesn’t work. It comes close, but doesn’t work. So what went wrong there is anyone’s guess.

CBC uses chick click-bait; no doubt because of a lack of government funding

Yeah I bet it was an editor's pick.

Yeah I bet it the CBC editor picked the most scientific or medically illustrative picture. Fer sure.

Big, big story at the state-owned CBC web site today, as seen at right under their heading “Editor’s Picks.”  Alas, no, it’s not a story about the CBC Editor’s choice for “sexiest babe.” It’s about stomach pain. Duh. Can’t you tell from the photo?

alternate-2They could have chosen the totally innocuous science-type graphic, like the one at left, which is a photo I found at what was apparently the same web-based source the CBC used to get the picture they chose – a picture which is decidedly not innocuous.

The picture they used did get my attention. And not being completely stupid, I surmise that that was the point. It’s a story which without that picture would be too boring to bother looking at, let alone clicking on. Or which we all might have read at any number of other web outlets.

Crass marketing for a news outfit owned by the state and paid for by taxpayers? Yeah. You bet your boobies. But at last glance, there were 318 suckers readers who commented on that CBC article. (None, so far as I could tell, blamed Stephen Harper for irritable bowel syndrome. Nor did the article or its commenters suggest that “Sarah Palin should take part of the blame.”  I remain shocked.)

The CBC supplemented the marketing of their big, big story with a tweet on one of their 8,000 CBC Twitter accounts of course, as well. This one from their “News” account:

This is what we call click-bait. The state-owned CBC is using click-bait – and almost unrelated photo of (in this case) a sexy babe – to attract readers to their otherwise mundane stories. Chick click bait, to entice readers to their stories, in competition with the private sector. That’s embarrassing for a supposedly serious news organization, owned by the government and paid for by taxpayers on the basis that’s it’s so essential. Don’t get me started on why the CBC sees a need to advertise like crazy, all over the place, just to attract an audience, which if the CBC is so essential, they wouldn’t have to do.

Curious also, I thought, that the state-owned and very left-wing CBC, would buy stock photos of female babes, in particular  – for any news story, ever, no matter how bad or boring or irrelevant their stories are.  I mean I would use pictures like that, sure, but then I don’t run around screaming or insinuating “sexism!” and “war on women!” or other left-wing, PC feminist bromides like that, all day long.  They do.  There were several male pictures available. They chose a sexy female babe.

The picture was, it turned out, more interesting and useful to me than the article. So, being bored, I began my research on the picture, to find one that might be more attuned to the scientific research they wrote about. Since the CBC’s photo was named “stomach-pain.jpg,” that’s the search term I used at Google images.

There are an incredible number of stock photos available for “stomach pain” stories, most all of which were weirdly similar (see gallery below). CBC chose one of the typical “stomach pain” stock photos, which – and this is where the research got even more fun –  in most cases depicts great-looking, young woman, almost universally with nice shloombabas, holding their bellies.

Hey by golly I don’t suppose this is a scientifically-tested marketing ploy designed to aid all those lamestream media news editors who have nothing but boring stupid stories on their publications, which need to be fortified by sexy babes for click-bait. Much.

I do wonder how many women are attracted by that kind of image. And don’t any of their myriad feminazi audience object? I’m guessing the CBC staffer who purchased the picture was a dude. Or one of the females of the 2%.

The state-owned CBC got their photo from an online commercial stock photo supplier. They could have chosen the guy at right, who doesn’t feel well in his tum-tum; or these related pictures of the same gal they did use, which I display simply for science. And to mock the CBC.

State-owned CBC “analysis” of tea party: black-hating, “rape-denying,” “neo-confederates.”

ANALYSIS  – Possibly the stupidest column of 2014, so far: a breathless, hate-filled “analysis” of the tea party from one of the most arrogant, conservative-hating “reporters” with the far-left, state-owned CBC – Neil Macdonald.

The term “Liberal Democrats,” according to tea party expert Neil Macdonald’s CBC “analysis,” is a racist code-word for “blacks!” (Which is bad! On account of the tea party being “racist” and hating all the blacks!)

The obtuse Macdonald (he may not actually be obtuse, he just plays one on TV and at CBC.ca) has no explanation for the reality – the empirical fact – that there are many black tea partiers; nor any explanation for the countless black citizens who support and vote for tea party-backed candidates in the Republican party. Has he ever visited TownHall.com? Or actually watched Fox News (which he incessantly denigrates, just because)? Or reviewed the “far-right” Heritage Foundation, which he smears just in case, being “far-right,” they hate blacks? What kind of BS “analysis” is that?

Macdonald describes – sorry analyzes – tea party supporters (like me) as “rape-denying, no-abortion-under-any-circumstances, anti-immigration reform, Confederate-flag-waving, gun-toting…”

I’m only surprised he left out “bible-thumping” or as those who “cling to their bibles.” He might have added “beat their women.”

But don’t worry  —  the state-owned CBC isn’t “biased.” It isn’t an extreme left-wing, agenda-driven outfit. It’s perfectly objective.

Beyond “controversial,” Macdonald’s sort of attempted smear is insulting and demeaning, not just to conservatives, but all other normal, sane people. It is mindless tripe. It’s “analysis” of the worst kind, because it’s agenda-driven. It’s lies, actually, and sadly, it’s being told to you by Canada’s state-owned media, which we all pay for, and which is protected and virtually forced into our homes by laws.

More generally, the far-left’s insidious, unethical effort to castigate random words spoken by conservatives  —  especially tea party supporters, which MacDonald clearly despises and he demonstrates this often —  as “racist” or “rape-denying,” is reprehensible.

Why does the state-owned CBC even have political analysis? Why does the government pay for this? Why do you? Why do you allow this to be?

I guess when you’re desperate, you resort to lies and fakery. Hey, CBC?

Man that Obama looks like he’s really hot! Look, Martha, he’s wiping his dang brow! Must be that man-made global warming!

Or the state-owned, taxpayer-funded CBC “News” just faked you out.

Spoiler alert: it’s exactly what you’ve come to expect from the CBC “News.”

In this example from one of the state-owned, taxpayer-funded CBC’s 8,000 Twitter accounts, which they use to advance their left-wing causes such as this, we see the Obama-fawning CBC “News” hyperventilating  —  or wiping their brow  —  over the Obama regime’s latest twitter_73x73_CBCalerts_biggerenvironmental-leftist-appeasing directive, which is yet another new EPA “rule” to cut coal emissions.

In order to bolster their their already beyond ridiculous advocacy of Obama, and whatever is his latest liberal-left big government boondoggle, CBC “News” obviously felt they needed to fake you out a little, and gin-up the news with a stock photo of Obama wiping his brow.

Let’s be clear: the picture is not representative of the story. The CBC “News,” which purports to never exaggerate or takes sides or tells lies, couldn’t find a photo of today’s announcement of their man Obama dramatically wiping his brow to exemplify all the “man-made global warming,” because he wasn’t even there at the news conference. So they made it up. They set about looked for just the perfect picture  —  something depicting the increasing warmth!  —  and found it. The photo is therefore only there to help CBC “News” enhance the Obama rhetoric; to “turn up the heat,” as it were. And in the process they hope to fake their readers out into buying the claptrap.

And that’s from a “news” organization.

The head of the EPA made the announcement. Obama was not there.

They could have put a photo of the lady who actually made the announcement. Indoors at an air-conditioned government building. Or, say, a photo of the hundreds of thousands who will lose their job, as a result of this new 645-page big-government rule; or a photo of someone who will sell their home instead of trying to pay their electrical bill which “will necessarily skyrocket”  —  to use Obama’s own 2008 hope ‘n change rhetoric.

CBC_fakery-2014-06-02_102224CBC “News” engaged in the same bit of fakery at their taxpayer-funded web site: The story’s attached photo is actually a bit of BS. It’s not representative of the real facts of this news story. It’s pure drama. Not news.

That photo also isn’t from today’s announcement. Again, Obama didn’t even make the announcement today. The photo is actually from a speech in 2013, in which Obama himself was clearly once again engaged in more than a little “drama.”  So it’s posted on the CBC News’ online story by CBC “News,” obviously only to help advance their own advocacy, and help to do the (other) progressives’ bidding.  Remember it’s “news.” Yet it’s not the reality. This is a news story colored by the CBC’s bias and advocacy. It’s actually kind of like the whole “man-made global warming” story.

How embarrassing.

Back to that tendentious CBC “News” tweet, in which they helpfully tweet that the rule is “touted by EPA as economically wise.”

This is the kind of idiocy we see on Twitter all day, but by partisan hacks and political butt-kissers. And now, apparently, the CBC.

It’s the EPA who invented the freaking rule and has been scrambling to rationalize it all day. And by the way, the EPA is not an economic think tank. The EPA’s currency isn’t money and goods and services and people’s jobs and people’s businesses, as most economists refer to when speaking of things that might be “economically wise.” The EPA’s currency is enviro hyper-rhetoric, symbolism, political ideology, mostly phony do-goodism, and invoking rules and regulations. So by that measure, this certainly is “economically wise.”

But by no other measure. See what the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says about it: “Proposed Carbon Rules Would Deliver Blow to Economy“.

I don’t need an attached BS photo to convince you that this betrays the CBC’s lack of objectivity, their fakery, their liberal-left bias, and poor journalistic standards. Again.

Personally, looking at that picture of Obama, I think he really just saw the latest Gallup presidential approval poll, in which 52% disapprove of him, and only 43% approve. And looking at the CBC’s ratings and their annual billion-dollar bailout by taxpayers, it is the exact opposite of “economically wise.”
