Through calendar year 2004, the latest figures available (in fact not to be made officially available on the Elections Canada web site until next month), the Conservative Party of Canada raised—through individual Canadians—more than twice as much as the Liberal Party. And more than twice as much as the NDP.
That’s how hopeful Canadians were for a good honest true blue Conservative Party government. Of course the Party has since ditched being “true blue” and has become Liberal Party Too since then (—oh sorry—that’s “moderate” or “big tent” or what I call “colossal mistake”), but whatever, eh? Maybe, and I’m hopeful, they will go back to where Canadians want them—in the right, and right in government.
Conservatives $10.9 million.
Liberals $5.2 million.
New Democrats $5.19 million.
