Discussion forum participant grinding Famous Players’ gears

Late yesterday I blogged about a call by Canada Family Action Coalition for a boycott of Famous Players theatres. I posted an article written by LifeSite.net.

Famous Players is showing a pro gay-‘marriage’ ad before all movies across Canada, for our unsuspecting families and kids to see.  The ad implores Canadians to write their MPs to show them “you support Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms”—implying that if you support traditional marriage, you’re against Canada and our Constitution.  That’s my review, in any case.  I think it’s offensive on other obvious levels too, not the least of which is the “time and place” argument.

The ads were paid for by the president (a well-known gay activist) of the advertising sales firm called Famous Players Media Inc., thereby enabling Famous Players to claim that it wasn’t “Famous Players” who are promoting gay ‘marriage’, but rather some totally independent media firm called, coincidentally, Famous Players Media Inc.  They’d have us believe Famous Players Media Inc has nothing to do with Famous Players, even though it lists their email address as the contact for ad sales on the Famous Players web site.

Also the name is rather similar.  Don’t know if you also noticed that.

A reader and participant in our discussion forum section, “TinaCanadiana”, has taken them on in a vivid email back-and-forth (all of which she’s posted for us) and is hitting some buttons!

Go and read the thread.  TinaCanadiana is doing a great job of fisking their obfuscatory responses.  Could get exciting.  And trust me, there’s no good movies playing at any Famous Players theaters.  Other theaters have some though.
