Dishonesty abounds within Liberal Party and the liberal-left

Here’s an excellent example of Liberal Party mendacity, replete with what liberals hate the most:  facts.

Read the whole column by the good Lorne Gunter but this snippet explains the scenario.

Anyway, Friday, Brison was asked by Saskatchewan Conservative MP Jeremy Harrison, “Mr. Speaker, yesterday we learned from Liberal organizer Michel Beliveau that he received $300,000 from Jacques Corriveau to fund Liberal campaigns in the 1997 election … When will the prime minister pay back the money his party has stolen to the Canadian taxpayer?”

To which Brison replied, “Yesterday it was Chuck Guite … Today it is Mr. Beliveau.

“Lorne Gunther (Cringe. It’s Gunter—no “h.” Gunther is what telemarketers call me.) in today’s Edmonton Journal said … ‘Guite is far from a credible witness and his assertion against the prime minister is hardly a smoking gun … Such a serial disassembler (Actually, I called Guite a “dissembler,” a purveyor of untruths. I know nothing of his ability to take apart Ikea furniture.) hardly makes a credible witness.’

“Lorne Gunther is not exactly a friend of the Liberal Party of Canada. (At least he got that right!) I would urge honourable members opposite to at least listen to their buddy Lorne Gunther on this one.” Of course, right before those lines, I had written, “I have believed all along that Martin knows far more than he is telling.” And right after them, I added, “there has been more than enough damning evidence against the Liberals to warrant an election now on moral grounds.”

Surprisingly, Scottie didn’t choose to repeat either of those lines.

If I had a nickel for every time the Liberals twisted facts or outright lied, I’d be a rich man paying taxes out my yin-yang.  I think we could all make a mint out of the dishonesty and outright deceit that comes out of health minister Ujjal Dosanjh’s mouth, who even as an honorable minister of the crown, insists on perpetuating a dishonest debate about the state of—and options for fixing—our healthcare system.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote in my column

At the mere mention of letting private enterprise fix Canada’s healthcare system, the Liberal socialist health minister Ujjal Dosanjh said the other day that the right-wing vision of more private money in health care would destroy the universal medicare system that Canadians cherish.  Destroy it, mind you.  “If there is a danger to our health-care system in this country, it is the euphemism of flexibility for the provinces (and) the market reforms,” he said, with a straight face yet.  As our nation’s health minister yet. He sounds like a communist to me—lamenting the possibility of “market reforms”.  What capitalist-minded person fears “market reforms”? Only a communist or a socialist would want to keep out market reforms.

He said that allowing private enterprise in would inevitably result in the destruction of the current system of universally guaranteed access to medical services.  “Destruction” of the universal-access system, he said, as if proving my point repeatedly.  He knows for a fact that that isn’t true.  And we know he isn’t stupid.  So where does that leave us?  I’d like to be diplomatic about it but why should I if he’s lying?  Why should I even stick to facts?

He informed us that by abiding by the suggestions of what he intimates are those nefarious capitalists, “That means somebody might check your wallet before they check your pulse.” That’s a lie even in the United States.  He knows that. I understand politics—but lies I cannot stand.  I honestly don’t know how he can live with himself. And yet all liberals say that and perpetuate the lie.
