Happy Email of the Day, May 14 2008: CBC taken off satellite co’s offerings!

The CBC and its socialist apologists in Saskatchewan (or what I call “a little bit of the old Soviet Union right here in Canada!”) are apoplectic today.  But the happy email from a reader made my day.  Star Choice (coincidentally my TV satellite provider) made the excellent decision to can the CBC Saskatchewan station from its basic service lineup in Saskatchewan.

Am I in heaven?

The superb decision was made—almost like they do in a free country—on the basis that it was… too similar to affiliated stations.  I suggest that aside from simply being similar, it was also utterly crappy television and far inferior to the offerings of private-citizen-owned stations.

But as if set up to prove to my haters who loathe and denounce and categorize as outrageous “lies” my repeated warnings that the liberals have fixed things in Canada such that the cable and satellite operators like Star Choice must, by Iranian-style law, offer the CBC channels for free to all Canadians, making our broadcasting rules little different from Iran’s and North Korea’s, the CBC has embarked on a complaint with the liberals’ other Iranian-style broadcasting branch, the CRTC.  The CRTC is the division which regulates what we’re allowed to watch on TV and listen to on the radio, and in what proportions, and as you can see, what we also MUST have broadcasting over our cable and satellite services, by LAW.  Just like in a tyrannical dictatorship and in contradistinction to a modern, free democracy.

You’ll find the story at the state-owned CBC.ca’s multi-gazillion-dollar web site division, which reports it as if it’s news, but can’t disguise the effort to merely use the taxpayer-paid “news” space to advertise for support from their socialist apologists, as such:

…CBC’s complaint to the CRTC says Star Choice is failing to comply with the conditions of its licence requiring a minimum number of CBC stations and should be directed to immediately put CBC Saskatchewan back on the service.

[…adding this at the bottom of the “news” article…]

CBC Saskatchewan … has posted a link on its website encouraging viewers to contact Star Choice to get CBC back on the service.

My happy emailer writes:

Good Morning Joel,

It’s a good day when a news article reports Star Choice has dumped one of their CBC channels(in Saskatchewan).  I wrote to Jim Cummins VP Star Choice Operations to thank him, and suggested they dump all the CBC channels. In addition, I congratulated Star Choice for broadcasting FOX (Love FOX!!)

It’s a start!

Link to CBC’s whine: It’s on other sites but I like to hear CBC whine. http://www.cbc.ca/arts/story/2008/05/13/cbc-satellite.html .

Jim Cummins – VP Star Choice Operations

Greig ____

I’m praying that this is a start.

Thanks Greig!
