In a CNN interview with Christiane Amanpour, Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said Iran is not going to produce nuclear weapons. He said it over and over as if in bemused wonderment as to how the world could think otherwise.
Phew. I was pretty sure they were going to produce nuclear weapons. But he said they’re not. Well we can just go with our lives then. I think the North Korean nutjob tin pot dictator Kim Jung Il said the same thing. So let’s order pizza.
AMANPOUR: And are you nonetheless not concerned, though, that there is a very serious movement in the United States that they will not tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran?
KHARRAZI: No, Iran is not going to be nuclear at all. Iran does not have any plan to produce nuclear weapons. It is determined to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
