Jewel thief Svend Robinson: epitomizes the liberal-left

White Swan I didn’t say he said anything.  I just said he epitomizes the liberal-left.  “Forgive ‘n Forget” is the liberal-left’s official election campaign slogan this time around I think.

I bring it up because last night, Svend Robinson was acclaimed as the socialist NDP candidate for Vancouver Center.  “Forgive ‘n Forget” all the stealing of shiny unsocialist materialistic baubles worth the same as a fabulous brand new BMW motorcar, from unsuspecting good folks who pay his salary.  He will be running for the socialist NDP against the Liberal Hedy Fry in the federal election.

And by the way, apparently that’s all we need to know, according to the people’s web site.

The state-run CBC.CA people’s web site division of the liberals failed to bother to mention that there’s also a Conservative Party candidate—they only mentioned the NDP and the Liberal Party—in that riding.  Yes, the Conservative Party has a candidate in every riding, almost as if they’re worth talking about if you’re not a socialist or communist, and you don’t steal cash and goods from your fellow Canadians.

The state-run media only had this to say about his opponents in the big race:

He’s running against incumbent Liberal MP Hedy Fry.

That’s it.

So as a public service, I’ll fill you in on the serious candidate for that riding, a Conservative, and I’ll do it not at taxpayer expense but at my own expense:

Tony Fogarassy practices law at the Vancouver firm of Clark Wilson LLP. His practice includes energy, mining, Aboriginal, environmental, and intellectual property law. Born in Prince Rupert, Tony and his wife Blair Lockhart have lived in Vancouver for 20 years, and have two children.

Tony is very active in his children’s lives, and offers his time coaching their softball and soccer teams. He is active in his community. He has served, or currently serves on the board of directors of various organizations including, The Burgess Shale Geoscience Foundation (protecting a UNESCO world heritage site in Yoho National Park).

In addition to having a degree in Law from UBC, Tony also holds a B.Sc. (Hons, First Class), and a M.Sc. (First Class). He has also earned an LL.M, from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Tony’s professional background has allowed him to work in various communities across Canada and overseas.

And nary an accusation of theft against him or his party.  What a chump, huh?
