Liberal Hollwood star George Clooney is “Proud to be out of touch”

…And nobody in the liberal media thinks worse of him.  In fact they praise his grand liberalosity.  Yet in contradistinction, liberals keep chastising me for calling this web site “Proud To Be Canadian”, simply by virtue of the fact that we are conservative.  It’s a weird, weird world.

At last night’s liberal-fest of self-aggrandizement,  the leftist Bush-hating ego-a-palooza Oscar award-eachother ceremony, several Canucks were treated to the shiny golden trinkets of liberal Hollywood for their works of earth-shattering, mammoth liberal-serving proportions.

For instance, Brokeback Mountain was filmed in Alberta.  That displayed tolerance which nobody noticed or awarded, but the much-awarded film Capote was Vancouver-produced.  And the man behind the big winner, Crash, is a Canadian.  I’m still proud to be Canadian nonetheless.

Very most extremely wonderful human being George Clooney, liberal actor and agitprop, set the tone for those hour-long acceptance speeches with this liberal/Martha Stewart-induced elixir, in which he said that Hollywood is “a little out of touch … and that’s a good thing.”

Then he said he was “proud to be out of touch.”

Ann Coulter I printed off Ann Coulter’s last column and watched chunks of the show (nearly causing me to blow chunks), and compared notes to see how well her predictions turned out.

In her predictions of a George Clooney victory, by the way, she said this:

The best original screenplay will be “Good Night, and Good Luck” as Hollywood’s final tribute to the old Stalinists (Hollywood’s version of “The Greatest Generation”). George Clooney has been mau-mauing the awards committee by going around boasting that conservatives have called him a “traitor,” although I believe the precise term was “airhead.”

She didn’t guess right on that one.  (Also read her column called “Are you now or have you ever been a second-rate filmmaker?”).

But her other predictions were better:

The best director award will go to … Ang Lee, director of “Brokeback Mountain.” …Also, this is gays directed by an Asian, which should satisfy the gaysians. Hands down: Ang Lee.

Right!

The winner in this [best actor in a leading role] category will be … Philip Seymour Hoffman. The awards committee can’t give everything to “Brokeback Mountain,” and at least Truman Capote was gay (though not a cowboy).

Right!

For best actress in a supporting role, Rachel Weisz ought to win for “The Constant Gardener” because it’s about how drug companies are evil, which to me is the essence of quality acting…  So I pick Weisz …

Right!

She also said this:

I also predict this will be the lowest-rated Oscars ever.

Right again!

Oscars Ratings Drop 10 Percent From 2005
The Academy Awards were down 10 percent from last year’s ceremony, based on preliminary Nielsen Media Research ratings from the nation’s 55 biggest markets. If the full national ratings follow suit later Monday, this year’s ceremony will likely be the second least-watched Oscars telecast behind 2003, when “Chicago” won best picture.
