Not only do I think spanking a kid is perfectly fine and normal, I think supposedly grown-up liberal-leftists need a good swift kick in the arse.
I find it absolutely amazing how these (“progressive”!) liberal correctness and do-gooder squads from the liberal-left find the time to invent more and more ways to intrude into the personal lives of Canadians and Americans, using state control to literally look after—control—our own families and lives. They think that we’re of course too stupid to do it ourselves.
Liberals are constantly trying to replace the family with the state. Think of Canada’s Liberal Party “beer and popcorn” child care (and early learning —wink!) fiasco in waiting. Or our North Korean-style health care system.
This latest intrusion into families having plain old fun is just too hideous: it was on the front page of the National Post this morning, so rather than copy and paste the article textually, I just had to show you it was for real otherwise you just couldn’t possibly believe me:
Meanwhile, liberals —Democrats all of them—in liberal-left California, are actually trying to pass a bill that would make it illegal to spank your kids—at the risk of a year in jail. (Read a liberal-leftist L.A. Times editorial today). That’s right. You don’t know how to control little Johnny, and in case you didn’t know, it’s also none of your business to look after your son. Sure he’s your son. But it’s the state who knows best. The benevolent state will look after your son for you. By law. “Family values” my arse.
And if this (“progressive”!) bill becomes law, then if you as parents are caught in the mall whacking little Johnny on the butt for telling you to shut-up (that’s de rigeur these days among the trendy hippy offspring tween set—ever since folks stopped spanking their kids), then the police are going to come to your house and arrest you and put you in jail.
No word on who will look after little Johnny after that. Perhaps the state-run child care (and early learning—wink!) social service program of benevolence and correct bringing up secretariat.
Vote liberal. They’re “progressive”!
