Obama fails to get usual, historic bounce after convention; McCain leads in latest poll

Wow that sure was some kind of spectacle, that hysterical Dem festival of talking points and scripted moments culminating in that speech by The Great Obama in which we were informed by actual fireworks going off at the end of it that we should feel as though fireworks went off in our heads and our hearts at the end of it… and then informed by the fawning liberal media tongue-waggers that it was awesome even if we didn’t really think so…

The latest nationwide Zogby survey, begun Friday afternoon after the McCain announcement of Palin as running mate and completed mid-afternoon Saturday, shows McCain/Palin at 47%, compared to 45% support for Obama/Biden.

Support among their own parties:  Obama won 86% support of Democrats and McCain 89% of Republicans in a two-way head-to-head poll question not including the running mates.

When Biden and Palin are added to the mix, Obama’s Democratic support remains at 86%, while McCain’s increases to 92%.

Rasmussen daily tracking also shows Obama got no significant lasting bounce from their big convention show, which is a phenomenon that breaks historic trends.
