One-third of Toronto feel life has worsened, poll finds

National Post story

According to a poll of urban residents of one of the centers of the Canadian liberal universe, Toronto, more than a third (36%) think the life in their liberal-led city had deteriorated somewhat or considerably in the past five years.  Furthermore, 33% of Torontonians thought things would get worse in their city in the future, according to the report.  Huh.  That’s “progressive” alright, but progressively “worse”.

The Canada West Foundation measured other cities too.  Only Calgary beat Toronto in terms of the measure of their negativity of the past five years.  But although Alberta is a conservative province, Calgary’s mayor is a former federal Liberal Party candidate (and he took over from another Liberal Party supporter mayor).

Vancouver, whose council was only recently rescued by the current moderate mayor and council from the far left-wing council led by the former mayor and now Liberal Senator Larry Campbell (appointed by failed Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin after Campbell warned Canadians, as mayor, that the conservatives were “barbarians” generally and who instructed Canadians to vote for any party but the Conservative Party), is tied with Toronto in negativity at 36%, but has a greater number of those who think things have improved over the past five years, and a higher number of those who think it will improve over the next five years.

The big positivity winner was Regina, in the province I call “a li’l bit of the old Soviet Union right here in Canada”, where only 11.2% thought things had deteriorated in the past five years.  Regina also won in terms of numbers who thought things had improved, at a whopping 49.4%, and came in second in terms of those who think things will improve over the next five years, at 56.2%.  Regina is led by a mayor who is center-right and whose two brothers are members of the conservative Saskatchewan Party.

Huh.
