PTBC’s troop escalation and pro-choice forum conundrum

As some have noticed, I changed what’s called the “access permissions” for our Town Square Discussion Forums (where your own topics are created and comments to Blog entries and Columnist columns also take place) such that only logged-in, registered visitors can view them at all.  Once properly registered and logged-in sort of like gaining citizenship, folks can freely see, read, and post topics or reply to existing topics, almost like in a modern free country that isn’t governed by liberal-leftists and their bureaucrats and law courts and CRTCs, or by tyrannical socialist or theocratic dictators.

Or at least that was how it was to work in theory.  And it will work.  We will prevail.  We can do it without “redeploying the troops”, too, Nancy.  But it will require addition troops.  This is an all-volunteer army, so, that means….. YOU.

Unfortunately when we changed the access permissions, it caused a man-made glitch, just like the man-made global warming and man-made global freezing and man-made totally moderate weather happening in Canada and the world today, as the Prophet Al Gore warned would happen in his movie “Holy Crap—The End is Nigh On Account of Neocons!”, or whatever it was called. And because the liberal’s CBC and their crack team of “reporters” isn’t all over this PTBC discussion forum caper with their

propaganda

liberal-left talking points

“fair and balanced news reporting”, I obviously had no way of knowing about it until it was brought to my attention today by an unpaid private frustrated citizen PTBC registrant person.

See, the thing is, new PTBC registrants have (for a long time) automatically been placed in the “Probation” group pending our assurance that they didn’t join just to wreck the place, as anti-conservatives constantly try to do owing to their famous liberal-left tolerance and compassion and love of freely expressed “other” points of view which are not vetted by liberals first and countered by reliable far-leftist university professors.  (Without going into detail, by being in the “Probation” group, we were able to monitor and control the web site much more easily without hiring unionized bureaucrats to do it, and to weed out those who tried to (a) take over the joint or (b) deem it perfectly acceptable to advocate their liberal-left horrors at my expense or (c) wreck the place through virtual terrorist asshattery or (d) any number of other annoyances that I don’t need in my life as a general matter).

But we found today that the “Probation” group didn’t have access to the newly permissioned forums, which was my man-made mistake but for which I’m sure I’ll be exonerated by a Gomery-like person—since Liberal failure Paul Martin was exonerated for doing a lot worse to our country and many Liberals are still running free today, not in jail, just wily nilly.  Anyway, as a result, for the past several days, those who registered within the past several months (and weren’t yet switched manually, by us, to the “Members” group out of the “Probation” group) couldn’t access the forums.  And they became green with envy much like green guru Stephane Dion over the Harper Conservative government’s fabulous success.

So as of right now, not unlike the criminal justice system under the liberal-left and their Parole Board division, all “Probation” group people are out of “Probation” holus bolus, and have been given full “Member” group status, and can see, read, and post to the forums, like regular free citizens.  We will just assume that all Canadians—even with names like “conservatives_suck_sh*t” are honest and mean well and even if they wreck the place, it’s better that they’re “reintegrated” into the forum’s membership to “enable” them and “empower” them, (you go girl, high five, Kyoto, Bush lied kids died, Halliburton, evolution rulz, vote liberal…) to wreck the place, and anyway, it’s society’s fault, duh, and a pan-PTBC universal social program will have to be put in place, at my personal expense, not theirs, in order to remediate their behavior which is my fault and yours too, don’t you know. Thank you.

Another change that will be made is this:

Since so many people join and then become nothing but looky-loos, contributing nothing but traffic not unlike most public sector workers on our highways at rush hour, we’re going to constantly prune the membership, much like the liberal-left’s yummy abortion program, only with less disgusting and morally reprehensible results.

Those who aren’t active will lose their registration and will be aborted by us at our discretion and choice, without fanfare.  Folks will, however (unlike innocent and manifestly dead aborted human babies), be able to re-register and try again.  In other words, unless you’re desirable and don’t spoil our figures, you’ll be offed like “a useless sack of cells”.

For many years I’ve operated various web sites with discussion forums, some of which have been hugely successful.  Never before have I had such a dismal failure as this effort at creating a Canadian conservative forum which goes along with the other offerings at this PTBC web site (“other offerings” which themselves are of questionable value and pubic interest, as best I can tell).  I’ve tossed and turned about it, tried different things, tried different personal attitudes, different levels of politeness and degrees of warm ‘n fuzzy, and different everything else.  Nothing has worked, and it languishes with a small handful of active members (although, happily, greater in number and quality than the state-run CBC’s viewership).

So this is an effort to either make it go, or fail.  I am decisive on this.  I want it to exhibit obvious signs of either success or failure, and if it fails, so be it, that’s the end of it, and I’ll move on to more productive things.

A marginal “success” is not good enough any more.  It is not productive for me or the aims and goals of this web site.  It’s also more than a little embarrassing for me on a personal level, and as I constantly stick my neck out and put my reputation on the line with my outlandish blog entries every day, I don’t need to be personally embarrassed on top of it all.

So let’s give it another final go.  Those of you who haven’t bothered to actively post to the discussions or make simple comments about blog entries and columnist columns, this is your call to arms. Those who are on active duty, we all thank you!
