The CBC didn’t ask me for my opinion for some reason

In an article at the web site subdivision at the state-owned CBC division of the Liberal Party, they have a “news” article about the fact that the House of Commons Heritage Committee is commencing its luncheons and jaw-wagging orgy in February, in order to discuss, yet again, the future of Canada’s state-run media, the CBC, which hardly anybody watches, thank God (the existence of which I believe they strongly question in favor of “the state”, notwithstanding our actual history and our Constitution and the facts of life).

Funny thing—just this morning I was reviewing their kids section at the mutli-gazzillion-dollar state-owned and funded web site, which features puzzles and games and cartoons and screen-savers and such for the kids—because as we know, only the state can provide this sort of thing for the kids.  It’s a fantastic use of our tax dollars.  Fantastic.  Much like their testicle-waxing videos and such.  It’s for the kids!

For their state-produced “news” story, they managed to somehow contact folks who are very supportive of this undemocratic banana republic-like socialist outfit of state-run leftist bias:  an MP from the you’ve got to be kidding party, and Richard Stursberg, CBC vice-president of English television, and then the story concludes with a statement from a socialist at the “Friends of Canadian Broadcasting”—an organization which purposely left out the words “socialist” and “state-run” in their name.

The advocacy group Friends of Canadian Broadcasting welcomed the announcement of the review and called for Prime Minister Steven Harper to participate and explain his stance on the public broadcaster.

“Stephen Harper’s agenda for CBC remains hidden. We hope the heritage committee calls the prime minister as its first witness to explain his position on the future of CBC,” spokesman Ian Morrison said in a statement.

Ian Morrison said that in a statement, did he?  Of course I understand the CBC not asking me.  In my “statement”, which actually I’ve made at least 300 times here at ProudToBeCanadian.ca so they needn’t ask me at all, I have said this:

“State-run or state-owned media should be banned in Canada, and this should be enshrined in our Constitution.”

And I know they read my blog because one time, they wrote me and told me under no uncertain terms, and I quote, “We will be monitoring your site…”

…and of course that costs taxpayer cash as well.  So I hope the committee discusses that between eating Timbits and Pita Pockets.

Perhaps they ran out of taxpayer-funded typewriter ribbon before finishing their online story, so they couldn’t include my thoughts on the matter. Or those of even one single solitary citizen who thinks not unlike me about this matter.
