Vancouver’s population jumps from 600,000 to TWO MILLION in one month!

The liberal media is nothing if not hilarious.  Of course it isn’t hilarious, so of course sadly, that leaves us with nothing.

It would be funny if it weren’t so serious, this (as I see it) hideous manipulation by the Vancouver Sun (a Canwest Global paper) of its constantly misinformed readership.

But catch what is (in my opinion) another blatant manipulation by that paper.  As I blogged on October 12 2006, when they were trying to peddle their Michael Moore-like phony baloney tale of the number of Iraq war dead (which, based on some of the most ridiculous leftist research ever published, they howled on their front page was 654,965 —or 5 to 10 times conventional wisdom), they described it as “more people than live in Vancouver”.  Wow!  How yummy!  And how deceitful, as I described in my blog entry, since Vancouver’s population is always described using the “Greater Vancouver” figure, as most cities are, rather than the very most limited legal limits of the City of Vancouver.

Here’s their alarming front page from that day:

From October 12 2006

But lately, as Vancouverites suffer through a series of rain storms (no doubt caused by “Bush’s” man-made global warming with the able Bush arse-kissing of that awful Conservative “Harper” and his annoying “Ambrose”), and the muddy water that Vancouverites have to drink as a result, Vancouver’s population is described as… “Two Million”. Here’s yesterday’s front page:

From November 17

They wrote on Friday:  “…One of the largest water warnings in the province’s history was issued Thursday for Greater Vancouver’s two million residents after torrential rains triggered dozens of landslides into the region’s reservoirs, turning tap water cloudy and brown…”.

I bet if 6000 people get sick as a result of the climate-related water problems, they will describe it as “one percent of Vancouver’s population”.  And then coincidentally do a ten-page spread on man-made global warming, and publish a poll showing how Canadians are in love with Kyoto. And also denounce “Bush” as an unpopular liar who manipulates facts.
